FAQs

  • I often find it helpful to create a simple opening/closing ritual such as gentle movement, a short meditation or intentional breathing to help bring us into and leave the therapy space intentionally. From there, I often ask an open ended question such as, “what wants to be shared today?”, which we attend to through a co-created combination of body awareness, guided movement practice, verbal processing and/or writing. Each session is different because we all show up differently every day, and it’s my pleasure to meet my clients exactly where they are.

  • Yes, I am in network with Aetna and United Health Care and am in the process of credentialing with Highmark Blue Cross/Blue Shield and Cigna. If you do not have the above insurances, you can call the number on the back of your insurance card to see how much behavioral health coverage you have for out of network providers.

  • I am currently only licensed to provide therapy to Pennsylvania residents. The training I do with organizations is not state limited.

  • Great question.

Everything that has happened to us from birth until this moment was experienced by our bodies first. Our bodies hold memories, stories, sensations and beliefs, and provide a wealth of often untapped information and wisdom that cannot be accessed through verbal means alone. We live in a deeply disembodied culture, and many of us have over-relied on our brains and tried to think our way through feelings. The embodiment process short circuits that tendency and allows you to actually feel what is or has happened so that it can fully move through your system and not keep you stuck in the past.

    • The thing that will both help you process your pain and set your system up to meet life with agility and softness is the capacity to feel more, not less.

    • We get there through the experience of embodiment.

    • All of these your experiences hit your body first, and they continue to live in your body now-that's why your body hurts, why you may struggle to make decisions about your future and why relationships with others can feel so challenging.

    • Centering the body gives you a felt sense of your own wholeness.

    • Overtime, this gives rise to language and new patterns that make it possible to fully feel and embody this wholeness in your every day life.

    • Growing your capacity to be present with your body naturally increases your capacity to be present with all the parts of your life without shutting down.

In my work with my clients, I focus on helping you connect to your felt experience, and utilize movement based practices to grow your body’s capacity to be present within a wider range of emotional experiences without shutting down. This is creative, playful, wild and tender work. Ultimately, I want you to get to the place where you are able to feel and be present to more of life rather than expend energy trying to protect yourself from experiencing pain.
